NEW YORK, Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- On January 19th at 8:00 PM (ET/PT) SHOWTIME presents the poignant drama A TIME FOR DANCING starring Larisa Oleynik (10 Things I Hate About You), Shiri Appleby (Swimfan), Amy Madigan (Pollock), Peter Coyote (A Walk To Remember), Lynn Whitfield (The Josephine Baker Story), Patricia Kalaber (The Foreigner) and Anton Yelchin (Delivering Milo). Directed by Peter Gilbert, the film is based on a true story and the book A Time For Dancing by Davida Wills Hurwin. It follows the journey of a gifted young woman, Jules, (Larisa Oleynik) who fights to fulfill her dreams, despite being diagnosed with a serious illness.

Jules (Larisa Oleynik) has dreamed of studying dance at The Juilliard School since she was a child. With an abundance of talent and ambition, Jules concentrates on this mission single-mindedly at the expense of her social life, as well as her relationship with boyfriend Eli, played by Scott Vickaryous (Romy and Michelle). Her best friend and dance buddy, Sam, played by Shiri Appleby (Swimfan), has followed her nearly every step of the way, but struggles without a sense of her own identity. With her audition steps rehearsed to perfection, all that stands between Jules and her dream is a routine physical and the chance to shine for The Juilliard School selection committee. However, the bonds of family and friendship are unexpectedly tested when, prior to her physical, a nagging pain turns out to be much more serious than previously thought. Jules, Sam and her entire family discover the importance of love and acceptance through the life lessons this crisis presents.

The cast includes Jules' father William (Coyote), Jackie, Sam's mother, (Madigan), Jules' mother (Kalenber), her brother, Jackson (Yelchin) and Linda (Whitfield) is Jules's dance teacher.
