The writer / director of Pope Dreams posted this on the message board today.
Here's the story on how Larisa became involved with POPE DREAMS. It will tell you a little bit about her as an artist:
Her manager sent her the script and wanted her to consider the female lead. Larisa loved the script, but knew she wasn't right for the lead. But because she thought it was a great project, she had her manager call our casting director to tell us that she would not only be happy to play any role we thought she might be right for, but that she would come in and read for the part.
Knowing we could have someone of Larisa's talent in the film, we actually expanded the role of Maggie (adding a scene which became one of my favorites in the whole movie) and offered her the role. And we were very happy to have her join the cast.
So in this case, Larisa chose the project, regardless of the role, because she wanted to be a part of the film, for which I will be forever thankful. Larisa rocks...
